About Me
Hello lovely one,
My name is Chantal Vander Kraats, and I’m a clinical psychologist who brings deep care, presence, and authenticity to my work. With 15 years’ experience, I’ve supported women through trauma, emotional overwhelm, and life’s most tender seasons. I now work full time in my own private practice, where I offer individual trauma therapy as well as small mind body healing sessions for women.
Why I Started The Breathing Studio
While I deeply value the power of talk therapy, I’ve come to understand that we are so much more than our thoughts. Our bodies and nervous systems carry the weight of our stories—the highs, the lows, the quiet aches—and they long for gentle tending.
This realisation became the seed of The Breathing Studio. I created it as a warm, safe sanctuary where women can soften, exhale, and gently reconnect with their mind, body, and soul.
My Approach to Healing
This work is not just professional for me—it’s deeply personal. I’ve walked through my own seasons of stress, uncertainty, grief, and emotional exhaustion. Talk therapy offered a soft place to land, but I began to notice that my body still held what words couldn’t reach. My nervous system stayed activated or quietly shut down. I looked like I was functioning, but underneath, I felt disconnected, and I knew something deeper needed tending.
Through mind body healing, somatic practices, and nervous system regulation, I discovered a path of true restoration. I learned to listen to my body with compassion, release what had been held too long, and return to a felt sense of aliveness. That transformation became the heartbeat of The Breathing Studio.
A Note to You
This space is my offering, born from both professional experience and lived understanding.
It would be my honour to walk beside you, holding light and trust as you begin your journey. I believe in your wholeness, even in the places that feel undone. And I trust your nervous system’s wisdom to guide you home, one breath, one moment, at a time.
